The virtuoso cellist Yo-Yo Ma has gotten a lot of attention in the last decade for forming and leading The Silk Road Ensemble –- a group that draws its members and music from countries all across Asia. Whether on the road or at home in Cambridge, Ma tells Kurt how every day begins with a Bach cello suite.

What a pleasure and delight to listen to this interview and hear the music played. It was an interlude of peace. I too thank Petunia and her master. :-)
After listening to this interview with my favorite musician, I know why, when I am ill or tired or depressed or anxious, and I put one of my Yo-Yo CDs on the stereo and lie down and listen, I am healed. I start the day with the sound of his cello and I go to sleep with it every night. My special thanks to Petunia and her master.
I am also quite honored to have shared Studio 360 with such an enlightened artist; I was a guest in 2004.
