In 1990 Chris McCandless was just out of college. He decided to sell all his possessions, donate the money to charity, then hitchhike to Alaska to live alone in the wilderness. Jon Krakauer’s account of McCandless life and death was the bestseller Into the Wild. This week it comes to the screen, in a movie directed by Sean Penn, starring Emile Hirsch as McCandless. Penn tells Kurt why he was drawn to the story.

Really difficult to convey this as a "sound story" and it was done beautifully. Really compelling.

What a crazy guy! He has done many cool things.
As usual another great show. I look forward to it every week.
This is such a cool story. I have to follow up on it. Also...Outside magazine has a story on this as well as the front page of the Sunday New York Times Arts and Leisure section. That's a lot of coverage! Hope the movie does the story justice.
