Joni Mitchell’s song “Big Yellow Taxi,” from 1970, is the closest thing we’ve ever had to an environmental anthem. Mitchell told Reese Erlich why she’s bothered by “green” hypocrisy.

Joni's so right on! The book called Bommeritis by Ken Wilber also nails it. Our narcissism negates our efforts to create a green society. Overpopulation is the key. According to UN statistics the earth can only support 2.2 billion and we are at 6.6 billion. Two thirds of you reading this should not exist. So who should exist? Evolution is information building on information. Most of you reading this are leading trivial and repetitive lives. One more stat. Peter Singer, head of philosophy at Princeton found that if you're getting and spending more than 30k per household you're basically guilty of murder. I'd say most of you reading this have quite a few adjustments to make.
