Over the years she's bounced from jazz, to country, to torchy pop, to hard-edged rock n'roll. In every genre, she's a master at crafting perfect break-up anthems and not-so-lovey-dovey love songs. Kurt talks with Mandell about her new record, Artificial Fire. And Mandell and her band perform live in Studio 360.

Studio 360, I can't thank you enough for introducing me to Eleni Mandell. I'm on the website listening to the segment of the show you devoted to her for the third time because I can't find "Personal" and "It wasn't the time (It was the color)" anywhere else, and they make me cry every single time. As for the commercial stuff, it's one commercial and I highly doubt it's going to make her lose sight of her wonderful music. Thanks again.
I can't wait to see her show in a few weeks. She is an incredibly gifted songwriter and musician...and HEY if "I love Paris" pays for a month's rent (or even a year) and she can focus on her music instead of the bills...all the power to her...she knows who she is and what she wants some ad-check isn't gonna change that...
good artist. i hope she doesn't get too caught up in the commercial stuff because she is quite gifted. i know everyone wants the american dream - but how much money do you really need to get by and continue making art? i hope she never looses sight of what is beautiful about her talents.
good luck ms mandell
