(Deborah Feingold)
When she was 18, Rosanne Cash's father Johnny gave her a list of "100 Essential Country Songs" she had to learn. Now decades after she was handed that sheet of yellow legal paper from the man in black, those tunes are the basis for her new album, The List. Her awe for these country classics was so strong, she told Kurt, "I wanted to write songs that were that good."

:)
Wish we could!
Johnny Cash's list is Rosanne's and Rosanne's alone. But if she makes good on her offer of a follow-up to her album (and maybe a follow-up to that), we may be able to start piecing more of that list together.
In the meantime, we're sorry to disappoint -- we'd like to see it too!
whoa, nice segment...she's great. when do you post the list?
Where can I find a complete copy of "The List"
any chance we will be able to view the list?
To my ear and mind she is not as likeable or talented as her parents. Her voice lacks soul, kind of like Nancy Sinatra (with the exception Bang Bang). Both of them remind me of the Peter Drucker principal for the life cycle of family businesses: The founding generation scratches and spends a good share of their lives reaching success followed by their children who lived relatively soft lives in their youth because of their parent’s hard work. The second generation becomes care takers of founded success. Then the third generation pisses it all away. In an earlier interview with Ms. Cash I recall her being contemptuous about the enormous time and effort her parents put into autograph signing and speaking with their fans. She thought it was ridiculous. I won’t be spending money on any of her product. I won’t even limewire it for free. It must be awful being children of remarkably talented and iconic parents.
