That song is just too cute. Takes a M'sian to understand the lyrics. Congrats Zee Avi! Makes me so proud that a fellow Sarawakian has recorded an amazing album.

sounds like 7 or 8 other current girlish-voiced, franco-inspired, watered-down-Bjork-ish, faux-naive-awkward cute singer/"alternative" celebrities. cuter when foreign. thrillingly cute when they come from somewhere unfamiliar. of course it got mainstream interest.
how can 90% of artists working now find anime
inspiring (at all)? -especially when they see a thousand extant versions of it already?
why do nonartists accept such sameness with complaisance, let alone such alacrity?

sorry - i've felt this way since childhood about almost everything popular. i worry about my antipathy when i look at great artists who evolved in movements- but i think there's a distinction when each is contributing to the evolution --and when it's great.
