Jennifer Egan's new novel, A Visit from the Goon Squad, is a time-shifting collection of tales that weaves around the music industry. Egan explains why PowerPoint was the natural choice for a chapter about a 12-year old, and tells Kurt how her 9-year old son helped her develop a deep appreciation for Eminem.

I loooovvvvee this book so much! I've read all of Egan's work, and this book along with Look at Me are her best to date IMO. (And they're all stellar. This woman deserves as much attention as Franzen! If not, more!)
Thanks for the great interview.
Our book club read this book and loved it. It took a bit to grasp what was happening but once we got into it, we were all so into it. The PowerPoint chapter was amazing. I'm going to re-read this book. Thanks for the terrific interview.
