I realized I was grown up when I knew the difference between happiness and pleasure.
One way I realized I was an adult was when I started wishing I was a kid again, instead of wishing I was an adult. hahaha
I THOUGHT I was a grownup when I returned stateside after the gulf war, rented a uhaul on my very own, packed up all my stuff by myself, & moved out of my parents' house into my own apartment.
Less than a year later, I KNEW that I was a grownup when I noticed that my closet looked just like my Dad's - more dress clothes than jeans & t-shirts.
I realized I was grownup when I started to resent the young.
