Daniel Lanois
(Adam CK Vollick)
In the behind-the-scenes realm of music producers, Daniel Lanois is a legend. He's the guy you call to juice up your career if you’re U2, Emmylou Harris, or Bob Dylan. Lanois recently published an autobiography, Soul Mining. Pejk Malinovski went to talk music with him and geek out on vintage guitars.
Listen to music from Lanois' latest project, Black Dub.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful interview! Dan is one of my absolute favourites since over twenty years now. I saw him live in hamburg Germany back then and hope so much, he will return for concerts. Dan working with my other big alltime hero Neil Young was the greatest thing that could happen!
Daniel Lanois, Trixie Whitley and her dad, Chris Whitley, are the only artists allowed on my JBL's for more than a half a year...I simply can't get enough of 'em ! I'm pretty sure, that Trixie's debut CD will be presented this year and Daniel (the nice guy!) will play a role in that project too...
His earlier songs like Slow Giving are just amazing. I first saw him in Ottawa during Winterlude - amazing. I saw Black Dub when they were in NYC a few months ago and they were excellent, but such a different vibe. I really enjoyed it, and their music, and it's great he can wear so many hats musically. I highly recommend checking out his earlier work on the album Shine -
