Studio 360's Awards Night Bingo: Oscars Edition
Friday, February 15, 2013 - 08:00 AM
Watching the Academy Awards next weekend? Play bingo with us!
The awards shows have turned into parodies of themselves: stars thanking their lawyers, refusing to "wrap it up," trying to exit off the wrong side of the stage. This year, we’re embracing the clichés. Join Kurt Andersen and the 360 staff as we play interactive bingo:
- Start with the card below
- Click on the tiles when you hear or see the cliché
- When you’ve got a complete row "YELL BINGO!"
- Get a fresh card and start all over again!
Follow #OscarsBingo on Twitter to see who else is playing and to join the conversation. The Academy Awards broadcast Sunday 2/24 at 8:30pm ET on ABC. Questions or ideas? Leave a comment below.

we had a grand time with the Bingo cards. there were only 3 of us but each card was a bit different so competition was high. discuss/arguments/you're cheating began with phrase in squares-"Argo Wins"-wins what? Best Picture? or just Wins an award? told my brother about them in chicago and he printed a few for his group to play along as well. I tried to tell other folks about it but didn't get around to EVERYONE! thank you very much!
I loved this! It kept me interested in the show far more than in previous years!
Hi folks -- the printing issue should be fixed now. Let us know if you have any more trouble with it.
Sorry about that -- looking forward to bingo-ing with you later!
Hi marerobins --
Sorry for the trouble. We're looking into the issue. Meantime, we've had reliable results using Chrome -- we recommend trying that.
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm having the same problem as dewluca. When I click on "print a card" the card comes up 3 missing horizontal squares or the right column missing, although in the latter case there's plenty of room for it above the drawing of the couple watching the awards. This is such a great idea -- I hope I can get it to work. I've tried both Safari and Firefox.
SO glad I heard about Oscar Bingo today when listening to the radio in my studio. I plan to play with my gal friends tomorrow, if we can stay awake long enough. We're gearing up for the red carpet throw down but the Bingo is so along the lines of what I would want to track because truthfully I haven't seen half the movies and I know even fewer of the actors. Bingo is keepin' it real and I'm Hollywood lame. But I do like a party.
dewluca -- Thanks for the heads-up. I haven't been able to reproduce the problem on my browsers, but I'll look into it more. Are you using the "Print a card" button? Also, does your printer prompt have a "fit to page" option? Maybe that would solve the issue?
Karl -- We estimate ~200,000 possible cards -- so you should be able to print out a lot before seeing an exact duplicate.
Thanks both -- looking forward to Sunday!
As a freshman at Rutgers University in 1975, my best buds and I started a tradition of over-drinking (rotgut Colonel Lee bourbon) and playing cards for the two hours leading up to the Oscar ceremony. [I was blind drunk before Jason Robards took away his Best Supporting Actor award!} Back then the Oscars were presented on a Monday night in March. The build-up to the award ceremony was longer and the tension of the awards seemed, somehow, greater. We kept up that Monday tradition until the last of us (me) finally got married thirteen years later. Now the Oscars are on a Sunday night and the award show is less than eight weeks after the the nominations have been announced. That 're-release the nominees to theaters' cycle has been wiped out by on-demand and DVD sales. Things change, I guess, but in my opinion it is not always for the better. Just a fatter and bigger way to turn a buck. And instead of getting blotton, I'll just have the one drink. Albeit a big drink.
You can watch the Oscars a block away from WNYC headquarters! Great German/Czech/Austrian beer and food, and the Oscars, true Greenwich Village. Doma na rohu, Morton and Seventh.

How many different versions of the Oscar Bingo cards are there? I want to print them all for a party.
Can't get the card to print in either Safari or Firefox . . . columns cut off, cells missing . . . had to use a screen grab instead . . . just wanted to let you know.
Winner attempts to exit wrong side of stage, presenter cracks her/himself up
Hi Mere --
Thanks for the catch -- I've removed the link because, for the moment, we don't have any cards up yet -- they'll be there very soon, promise!
So glad you'll be playing along!
The link for "get a new card" doesn't work. I'm dying to play the game with the crowd at my Oscars party. Can you please repost it??
Thanks!
Squares: Winner Thanks God; Winner inappropriately kisses presenter; Winner tells kids at home to go to bed; actress trips on dress going up on stage; Joke about Republicans;
