WEST SIDE STORY IS PHENOMENAL

THE STORY,SCORE AND DANCE ROUTINES WERE DEFINITLY A BENCHMARK - A TURNING POINT FOR THR AMERICAN THEATER. LOVED IT!!

When I was in 4th grade in San Jose, California, (1961) I was lucky enough to get into a small choral group at school. Our enlightened and inspiring leader and teacher--taught us songs from West Side Story!!--which we were thrilled with--though we had little idea of the real

significance of the music and the play at that time. I love those songs and they are with me still--I wish i could remember that teacher's name--I'll always be grateful to him.
