Young adults in Japan are unemployed, disenchanted, and depressed. Roland Kelts talks to poet Misumi Mizuki, novelist Ryu Murakami, and other artists to understand why. And he finds that Japan’s troubled youth might be changing the country for the better.

college rises to new heights

Wow.
This episode hit me really hard. I now know that I am ikikamuri. I spend all my time alone and never come out of my apartment except for work.
I owe so much of my youth to Japanese culture, I wish I could help out the guy singing the Beatles song.
