The Iraq War, On the Road

British artist Jeremy Deller worries that America has forgotten about the war. So he created a traveling art exhibit -- "It Is What It Is: Conversations About Iraq" -- to bring the war to us. Produced by Josie Holtzman.

Love it! It is what it is... It is not beautiful as mentioned but it needs to be out there. I am Assyrian and as you know the indigenous people of Iraq. I am now living in Savannah, GA teaching at SCAD. I can talk about the issues via art/design more effectively than other means. Thank you!

I started listening to this piece on line and then realized i could see the accompanying slide show to go along with it--not my usual radio experience. I especially liked the crushed bug verbal image ( before i saw the photos)--Is it art if it is on the road? why not? Does it change how people feel--does it made people feel uncomfortable in the discovering that this is "real": certainly. Well done to the producer for capturing this quandry through the responsive voices of the viewers.
