Green Horn

Jasper Rees was having a midlife crisis. Instead of buying a motorcycle, he confronted the French horn -- the notoriously difficult brass that terrorized him in childhood. Kurt talks with Rees about his memoir, A Devil to Play: One Man's Year-Long Quest to Master the Orchestra's Most Difficult Instrument.

Thank you for sending this latest sound bite. I have really enjoyed keeping up with you since our first meeting back in Oct. 2005, after my bout with Hurricane Katrina and our interview in New York where the Louisiana Philharmonic was going to play a benefit concert with the members of the NY Phil. I am still sharing my love of music and the French Horn through my solo show, "Howard Pink and His Musical Garden Hoses." Best Regards.
