Birdman

Paul Bartlett was slogging through a PhD in animal behavior when he decided he would rather be painting. Bartlett finished his studies, left behind the zebra finches in his research lab, and now depicts razorbills, puffins, and other shore life in his native Scotland. Produced by Ari Daniel Shapiro.

Beautiful report (and wonderful, gorgeous slides of his work). Cudos to Ari D.

Paul - I loved your story. It reminded me of Ari.

Great story about following your bliss. The images are fabulous. My husband and I honeymooned in the north of Scotland in 1995, and spent a delirious day circling sea stacks off Scourie, surrounded by guillemots and razorbills and fairy terns. These remind me of the work of Charlie Harper, and they would make smashing stained glass!!!
