Finding Darondo

Feature

Friday, May 16, 2008

Justin Torres is a record nut, the kind who combs through stacks of dusty LPs looking for obscure gems. Torres told Chris Roose that he became obsessed with finding an R&B crooner named Daron "Darondo" Pulliam. Darondo wasn't just a forgotten singer -- the man had apparently disappeared.

Hey all -- we were sure charmed by him too... I think he's one of the staff's all-time favorites on the show. And lucky for us, Darondo's music is now readily available via iTunes and Amazon -- and the Studio 360 online store!

How wonderful to hear that someone loves old records. I have 600 records which i would never part with, due to the fact this era can never be bought back wonderful music from the heart, and the covers are so wonderful to look at again and again.
What a voice. Yes let Daron Pulliam has a second career. I would be first in line to buy.

This was a great story. It reminded me of all the hip cats I grew up listening to in the 70's on am radio back in Detroit. This is why I love your show. This guy may have a great second career just from this story alone.
