The Heat Is On

Feature

Friday, February 26, 2010

With the rough weather this winter, writer Henry Alford has been cooped up inside more than he’d like. He’s been listening to the radiator clanging, banging, and hissing so long that it sounds like music. So he created his own composition for radiators, and he got a professional opinion from classical music critic Fred Plotkin. Produced by Studio 360's Pejk Malinovski.

Wonderful as was Alford's radiator composition, a dear friend of mine and established musician and artist Philip Mantione, created a very impressive, well thought out radiator composition back in 1999, which deserves NPR's attention. You can hear it at: www.philipmantione.com/music/radiator/Radiator.mp3.
