Sarah Jessica Parker

Interview

Friday, May 28, 2010

Long before "Sex and the City" turned into a global pop culture phenomenon, Sarah Jessica Parker played little orphan Annie on Broadway and a frizzy-haired teenager on "Square Pegs." As the latest SATC movie opens this weekend, Parker tells Kurt about the career path that led her here. How much of the fictional Carrie is in the real Sarah Jessica? "Thirty percent," she says.

She is blessed to have some acting chops ( and now wealth) with a facelike a foot....

I was shocked and offended when Kurt Andersen asked Sarah Jessica Parker if she was worried that she and her co-stars were getting too old to play their Sex in the City roles. What an offensive question! Did he really mean to suggest that after a certain age women can't be attractive and interested in sex? Would anyone have ever asked a question like that of George Clooney or Robert Redford? Society's general feeling that after age 30 women can do little more than be dowdy mothers is exactly why Sex In the City is such a success -- it is one of the few shows that recognizes that mature women still enjoy fun, going out, and that they can look damn hot while doing it.

I fell in love with Sarah Jessica when she tried to sell a pair of pants to Steve Martin in some multi-actor movie I can't remember.
And it's just been getting worse by the hour.
