Eavesdrop on Jimmy Cliff’s Existence

Monday, April 05, 2010 - 12:08 PM

Last month, one of reggae’s founding fathers, Jimmy Cliff, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On this week's show, Kurt talked with Jimmy about his long, illustrious career and whether he had plans to retire soon; to which Jimmy replied, “Oh that word ‘retire’ – to get tired twice, I’ve never seen that in my vocabulary!” In fact, Jimmy has a new concept album in the works with the ambitious title Existence. So much for taking it easy.

Now, if you're trolling the web for a taste of Jimmy’s new record, good luck; none of the new tracks have seen the light of day. Until now.

Here at Studio 360 we’ve got an exclusive sneak preview of Jimmy Cliff’s new song “Coming & Going.” Even better, he performed it live for us in the studio. No word yet on when Existence will officially exist, but for now this will happily tide us over:
