Patton Oswalt, Wasteland Comedian Patton Oswalt categorizes himself as a “Wasteland.” (Ryan Russel)

The comedian Patton Oswalt reads the title essay from his new memoir: Zombie, Spaceship, Wasteland. As Oswalt sees it, we all fall into one of these three science fiction fantasy archetypes. Produced by John DeLore and Studio 360’s Michele Siegel.

Hi - Kurt said the F train doesn't run above ground between Manhattan and Brooklyn - OH but it does - it is above ground for a couple stops - Smith and 9th and 4th Avenue - then again after Church avenue all the way to Coney Island.

We need the quiz.

This is not a quiz. This is a self-assesment or a survey. Let's get our definitions straight.

Mr. Oswalt has forgotten an entirely different sub-genre in SF-Fantasy, namely, Fantasy. You know, Lord of the Rings (the books), A Wrinkle in Time, Chronicles of Narnia, Dragonriders of Pern, Dungeons & Dragons. Perhaps none of us are in his circle of acquaintances. Perhaps his social life would have been better, as women are fans of Fantasy in larger numbers than in the other sub-genres.

Love the piece but... "diagnostic quiz?" What quiz? Where?

This all seems like a strange sort of Rock Paper Scissors thing.

Wasteland kills Zombies...
Spaceship takes over Wasteland...
Zombies eat Spaceship...

It all seems to balances in a strange way.

Lame, After listening to the show I too thought there would be some sort of "quiz" to take. I was interested in seeing if my "self- diagnosis" was in line with what Patton has put out there. I like Kurt feel like I'm more of a "Wasteland-y Spaceship".

...But again misleading guys, misleading.

Like Chris the confused, I too could swear that the show called it a quiz, and was looking forward to getting all my friends to take it. How about it? Can you make it into a quiz? Much more fun that way.....much more fun than "what animal are you?" apps...

@Chris - the quiz is above - more of a self-diagnosis, if you will!

I've listened to the clip twice now - still looking for that diagnostic quiz on the site!
