Playing
Mountain Goats. For the past decade singer songwriter
John Darnielle has earned his reputation with clever dark songs he chose
to record straight into a boom box. The sound was lo fi but the stories
in the songs were lush. Michael Raphael says that in his latest record,
Darnielle has abandoned the boom box for the moment and digs even deeper
into his imaginary world.

bang away at homemade instruments made from automobile exhaust pipes.
Glennie introduces us to another musical daredevil--the New Zealand
composer and drummer Gareth Farr. Produced by Amy Jeffries.
