Joseph Mitchell entitled "An evening with a gifted child. "
The child was an eight year old musical prodigy, a rising star named Phillippa
Duke Schuyler whom Mitchell suggested was bound for an astounding career.
Tamar Brott wanted to find out what happened to that little girl.

Gary Graffman
is a pianist and educator. Graffman was a prodigy--
accepted at age seven by the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in
Philadelphia. He studied with Vladimir Horowitz and he has played with
all the major orchestras in the United States. He is now the president
of Curtis, and a master of the repertoire for piano played with the left
hand alone.
